A Campaign About the Power of Caring
Adults
Do you remember when
you were 15? There were good times, but probably a lot
of hard times too. During those hard times, there was probably
at least one adult who made things better. Someone who
cared about you, who listened, and who helped you become the
person you are today.
Reclaiming Future's Cook County
is teaming
up with the
Austin YMCA – Y Pal Program
to carry out a unique campaign called "When
You Were 15."
Reclaiming Futures is recruiting caring adults to support youth
with drug and alcohol problems who are in trouble with the law. Here’s
how adults can get involved.
Volunteer your time with the Y Pals
at the Austin YMCA. It’s a safe and caring environment
where you can participate in activities with your student one
hour per week or more.
- Not sure if you want to volunteer
one-on-one? Participate
in a visit to the Austin YMCA and check out the facility.
Visit the computer center, the gymnasium and learn about
the many programs and activities that the Y offers.
If you'd like to visit the Austin YMCA and learn more about
the Y Pals Program and how you can get involved, please call 773.287.9120.
- Out of time, but still want to help? Then
consider donating to the Austin YMCA so that they can continue
mentoring and other programs through your financial support.
